The registrar office assists members to process boating related permits with the Transport General Authority (TGA) and Coast Guard (CG).


We help with translating and processing the following forms:

The Dhahran Clubhouse is located at 5502 Spruce Street, open on Sundays and Wednesdays from 4:30 – 6 p.m.




 Registration Renewal

  • Boat registration renewal can only be processed with a valid government boat inspection
  • Boat owners are responsible to register their boat every 3 Hijra years (33 days less than 3 Gregorian years)
  • Expired registration will incur government fines
  • Annual inspections are required for all boats and also during boat registration or sale transfers
  • Please note that handling your own permits with TGA may require boat inspection at the CG office

Prerequisites:

  1. Signed authorization letter and stamped by Aramco HR for approved TGA broker to act on your behalf (buyer’s responsibility)
  2. Copy of government ID card and Saudi Aramco ID card on the same sheet
  3. Letter of employment in Arabic (to whom it may concern, no salary needed)
  4. Copy of transponder card for boats longer than 3.6 meters. New transponders need to be assigned to your boat.
  5. Copy of Sailing License
  6. Cash payable to TGA (for 3 years):
  • SR 300 for sailboats
  • SR 900 for powerboats 

Late registration fees are SR 100 per month not to exceed SR 500 per year. Fees double for 2 consecutive years, plus SR 25 for a certified check.



Ownership Transfer


Prerequisites:

  1. Signed Q form by your Fleet Captain, to inspect and ensure your vessel is seaworthy
  2. Valid boat registration, 5+ months, if not, registration renewal is required
  3. Signed Bill of Sale (in Arabic) by:
  • All owners of boat, seller and buyer
  • 2 witnesses (with name and government ID numbers)
  • Stamped by Aramco HR (seller’s responsibility)

Buyer and Remaining Owners documents:

  1. Signed authorization letter and stamped by Aramco HR for approved TGA broker to act on your behalf (buyer’s responsibility)
  2. Signed buyer form (for boat sales and ownership transfers)
  3. 4 color passport photos (Saudi citizens must be in national dress)
  4. 3 copies of government ID card and Saudi Aramco ID card on 1 sheet
  5. Letter of employment in Arabic (to whom it may concern, no salary needed)
  6. Copy of Sailing License

Seller documents:

  1. Signed authorization letter and stamped by Aramco HR for approved TGA broker to act on your behalf (Buyer’s responsibility)
  2. Letter of employment in Arabic (to whom it may concern, no salary needed)
  3. Signed seller form
  4. Coast Guard form requesting letter of "no objection. The seller enters his mobile number and signs the form and the Registrar or Broker will complete the rest of the form in Arabic. The seller is responsible to have form stamped by Aramco HR.
  5. Copy of government ID card and Saudi Aramco ID card on the same sheet
  6. Original white, green and pink books, if available
  7. Signed Q form by your designated Fleet Captain
  8. Transponder card, if required (for boats longer than 3.6 meters). If a new transponder is needed, it must be assigned to the new owner as part of the transfer ownership. 


Sailing License

All boat owners must have a sailing license to check in and out of the coast guard station.

Prerequisites:

  1. Completed coast guard form and stamped from a medical staff (JHAH or by an approved medical clinic)
  2. Swimming certificate
  3. Letter of employment in Arabic (to whom it may concern, no salary needed)
  4. Copy of government ID with copy of Aramco ID on same sheet
  5. 3 passport size photos (all photos must be identical)
  6. Marine work permit (white book)



Swimming Certificate

  • Go to www.mysfcoach.com 
  • Navigate to the swimming link to book an appointment for a swimming test which is administered by a certified and CG approved swimming coach


Lost Boat Books

To replace lost boat booklets (white and green) you can handle directly with TGA or request the registrar office to process on your behalf. See below for pricing. 


For HMYA to process on your behalf, please come to the Dhahran Clubhouse during working hours.


TGA Fees

Registration for 3 years:

  • SR 300 Sailboats
  • SR 900 Powerboats

Expired registration:

  • SR 100 per month, not to exceed SAR 500/year
  • Fees double for 2 consecutive years expired, plus SAR 25 for a certified check

Replacement Marine Permit booklets

  • SR 100 newspaper advertisement
  • SR 200 payment (TGA charges)


Broker Fees

We work with an TGA authorized broker to help process boat registration documents. Fees are paid in cash at time of processing documents.

  • SR 200 CG release letter, paid by the seller
  • SR 500 Transfer, includes inspection, TGA and CG
  • SR 500 Registration renewal, includes inspection, TGA and CG
  • SR 500 Cancel registration
  • SR 300 Marine Permit booklet replacement
